EAST ZAMBIA OPERATORS - nchila
wildlife reserve
Home to some of Africa's most
beautiful animals and birds in a nature reserve
of stunning natural beauty, in the remote North
West Province of Zambia - Nchila is a reserve
where antelope and game, originally indigenous
to the area, have been carefully reintroduced,
and are managed with conservation foremost in
mind. The Bushcamp of chalets is in virgin African
bush, camouflaged by riverine and miombo woodland
overlooking dambos and streams. Ornithologists,
herpetologists, zoologists, and many other observers
and lovers of the natural world are among its
appreciative visitors.
Nchila is privately owned and
is part of Hillwood Farm situated in the remote
North West Province of Zambia near the source
of the Zambezi. With over 40km square of virgin
African bush, fenced with local materials using
local labour, Nchila is a reserve of stunning
natural beauty.
Our visitors include fairly local
expatriates in search of some rest and relaxation,
as well as those who come for the same reason
from farther a field... some on longer trips,
building us into their schedule. Many come because
they simply enjoy the wildlife in the most natural
setting possible in the African Bush. Other specialist
activities can be requested and accommodated where
possible.

Specialists come for study in
a particular field of interest, sometimes for
long periods. In the past, as well as the categories
listed, people have come to study bats, orchids,
proteas, snakes, figs, and grasses.
Photographers with general or
specific wildlife interest. Most visitors are
very pleasantly surprised at how close it is possible
to get to the Nchila animals. All wildlife photographs
on this page were taken on Nchila.
Film crews of different nationalities,
and TV Personality Adventure Film Makers also
use Nchila. The source of the Zambezi is often
another local venue for such parties.
